Our activities
Direct Operations (hereinafter referred as DO) is a supplier specialised in the production of printed campaigns, mailings and gadgets. For the production of (personalised) print work and the preparation of mailings, DO works with print facilities and letter shops in Belgium and abroad. DO also buys and sells gadgets (with or without personalisation) that can be used in mailings or any type of gadgets. DO also purchases gadgets (with or without personalisation) that can be used in mailings or any type of promotional material.
Processing of personal data
As a supplier, we process personal data on behalf of our clients for the production of personalised direct mail campaigns.
We process personal data exclusively on behalf of the client and based on instructions given in the context of the production mailings and other printed materials.
The personal data we process in accordance to our services are:
- Title, first and last name
- Address details
- If applicable: name of the company or organisation representing the individual
- Language and sex
- Specific data for organisations active in fundraising, including gift details (date and amount of a former donation) and national number (this number will only be processed for the purpose of issuing tax certificates)
We may also process additional personal data if given by the client in order to personalise promotional items. We do not process sensitive data.
How long do we store personal data?
The personal data we process for the purpose of producing campaigns are only used for the performance of our services.
Personal data are processed with the necessary technical and organisational measures to ensure data protection. We do not store personal data for longer than strictly necessary and only for the purposes for which we have received it.
How do we protect personal data?
We do our very utmost to protect personal data as much as possible. We store personal data on well-secured servers and cloud environments in Europe. If we outsource to other suppliers, we require an equivalent level of security which is defined in a contract and for which we receive sufficient guarantees regarding appropriate technical and organisational measures, so that any processing of personal data meets the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR").
We work with suppliers located in the European Economic Area (EEA), with the exception of Innovairre Communications LLC, headquartered in the United States. For the production of some campaigns, Innovairre makes use of their main subcontractor, located in China.
Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC) have been concluded with Innovairre Communications
(version 4th June 2021), in accordance with the European Commission’s requirements. A copy of these SCC can be obtained by contacting us via the contact details mentioned below in this policy.
What are your rights ?
We do not process personal data as a data controller, but solely based on instructions of our clients. After the order has been completed, the date is deleted. If you wish to exercise your rights under the GDPR, such as the right to object to further processing, the right to rectification or the right to be forgotten, you can contact us and we help you to get in touch with our clients.
You also have the right to file a complaint regarding the processing of your data at the Belgian Data protection authority, by e-mail via contact@apd-gba.be or by letter to (rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels).
